2019 | Research Quality Assessment Approach and Techniques and Influencing Variables
The progress of a country is not only measured by its level of economic growth, but also in terms of the development of science which is marked by an increase in the number of publications and the quality of research. The focus of a country on research and development has proven to be able to change the atmosphere of global competition in the context of the development of science, technology and industry. This picture is unfortunately not fully reflected in Indonesia. When compared with fellowdeveloping countries, the quality of research in Indonesia is classified as not encouraging.Based on this anxiety, this research was designed, namely to find out how the portrait of the quality of research in Indonesia is actually. This study also aims to find out what assessment techniques are most effective to assessthe quality of research and to test the fitof the theotrical modelproposed in the causal relationship between the quality of research with a number of exogenous variables. Therefore, there are two analytical techniques used, namely ANOVA and structural equation modeling (SEM).The ANOVA technique was used to compare the mean of quality of research assessed usingholistic rubrics, analytical rubrics, and rating scales. While the SEM technique was used to elaborate the determinant factors that effect the quality of research. This study only focuses on research reports conducted by lecturers. Why are lecturers chosen as research subjects, because they are knowledge workers.Knowledge workers not only have the basic work and routine activities related to intellectual studies, but also must have innovative-creative abilities to create, utilize and disseminate knowledge. At least 350 lecturers from a number of Islamic universities were involved as respondents in this study. After testing a number of hypotheses through a series of empirical data analysis, the results of the ANOVA analysis showed that there was no difference in the mean of quality of research assessed using holistic rubrics, analytical rubrics, and rating scales.Whilethe SEM analysis showedthat the proposed hypothetical model was supported by empirical data through a number of significant values of loading factors. It must be admitted that research on the quality of research at the higher education level is not a foreign topic. However, it is not easy to get research that analyzes the quality of research among lecturers who came from a number of universities. Moreover, this study usedtwo analysis techniques at once, namely ANOVA and SEM.From this point of view this research can be called unique and different compared to other studies.

2019 | Differences in Sensitivity and Accuracy of Mantel-Haenszel Methods and Different Methods Proven in Different Detection of Item Function
Detection of Differential Item Functioning (DIF) is vital in the development of tests. The Mantel-Haenszel method and standardization are tools for DIF detection based on classical theory assumptions. The study was conducted to highlight the sensitivity and accuracy between the Mantel-Haenszel method and the standardization method in DIF detection in conditions of four proportions of DIF proportions. Simulation design (a) test participants consisted of 1000 responses in both the reference and focus groups, (b) the size of the proportion of DIF (0.1; 0.25; 0.50; and 0.75), and (c) the length of the test was 40 items and five answer choices. Research shows that the Mantel-Haenszel method has the same sensitivity as the standardization method in DIF proportions of 10% and 25%, however, when the proportion of DIF proportions above 25% the standardization method is less sensitive and conversely the sensitivity of the Mantel-Haenszel method increases. The standardization method has higher accuracy than the Mantel-Haenszelmethod in the DIF proportion of 10%. However, the difference is not so large, so when the size of the DIF proportion above 10% the standardization method accuracy decreases, the accuracy of the Mantel-Haenszel method is higher than the standardization method. It was concluded that the Mantel-Haenszel method was better than the standardization method in a stable sample condition and the test length was 40 items, so the researchers suggested the Mantel-Haenszel method to be used as a DIF detection tool in thedevelopment of tests.

2019 | Simplified Circle Arc and Nominal Weight Mean Equating Method For Equating on Small Sample | This study aims to determine the equatingmethod that can be used in small samples in terms of the form of data distribution. This study uses the 2015 National Exam questions in mathematics from the Education Assessment Center (PUSPENDIK) for the DKI Jakarta and Tangerang areas. The results showed that in the sample size 36 with the number of items 20, the aquatingresults using the Simplified Circle Arc method and the Nominal Weight Mean Equating method had the same precision in the form of normal data distribution, positive skewness data distribution, and negative skewness data distribution. Whereas for sample size 36 with the number of items 30 and 40, the aquatingresults using the Simplified Circle Arc method are more accurate than the Nominal Weight Mean Equating method in the form of normal data distribution, positive skewness data distribution, and negative skewness data distribution. While in the condition of sample size 50 and 100 with the number of items 20, 30 and 40, the aquatingresults using the Simplified Circle Arc method are more accurate than the Nominal Weight Mean Equating method in the form of normal data distribution, positive skewness data distribution, and negative skewness data distribution. From the results of the research that has been done, the use of the Simplified Circle Arc aquatingmethod can be applied to small samples with various variations in the number of grains. However, in the condition of sample size 36 with the number of items 20, the use of the Nominal Weight Mean Equating method can be used as an alternative method of aquating. The use of number 20 gives the possibility of using a more flexible aquatingmethod with the condition of sample size according to rules regarding the maximum number of samples in the class.

2019 | Comparison of Sensitivity Between Mantel-Haenszel Method, Logistic Regression and Irt-Likelihood Ratio on Differential Item Functioning Detection
The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in sensitivity of 3 DIF (Differential Item Functioning) detection methods, namely: IRT-Likelihood Ratio (IRT-LR), Mantel-Haenszel (MH) and Logistic Regression (RL), in detecting DIF Mathematics National Examination (UN) academic year of 2015 in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Precisely to determine the most sensitive method of detecting DIF or “sniffing” the presence of DIF even when the DIF degree is small. DIF item is item that benefit certain group participants and disadvantage other groupswith similar abilities. The presence of DIF is reviewed on two types of grouping of participants. First by gender(JK) where men as a reference group (R) and women as focus group (F); second by type of school(JS), where public high school as a reference group (R) and private high school as focus group (F). This study uses an experimental method with a 3×1 design, with 1 factor (method) with 3 treatments (different DIF detection methods). The population includes all 5 types of 2015Mathematics UN question packages (codes:1107, 2207, 3307, 4407 and 5507). The 2207 package was taken as a sample consisting of 5000 participants (3067 women, 1933 men; 2427 Private High School students, 2573 Public High School students), with 40 UNitems. Classic test theory (TTK) item selection was applied to 40 UN items and passed 32 items. Item response theory selection (TRB) passed 18 items thatfulfilled. With the R 3.333 program and IRTLRDIF 2.0, in the JKgroup, 5 items were detected as DIF by IRT-LR, 4 items by RL, and 3 items by MH. In the JS group, there were18 items were detected as DIF by IRT-LR, 32 items by RL, and25 items by MH. In the sensitivitytest of the DIFmethods, 6 analysis groups were formed: (4400,40), (4400,32), (4400,18), (3000,40), (3000,32), (3000,18), 40 data sets were generated and 40 times DIF detection was performed in each group. With data notnot fit models, athree parameter logistic model (3PL) is chosen as the most suitable model. In the JK group, Tukey’s test results showed the IRT-LR method was more sensitive than MH and RL in the groups (4400,40) and (3000,40). IRT-LR was tested to be more sensitive than MH in the groups (4400,32) and (3000,32) but not more sensitive than RL. Both MH and RL methods turn out to be more sensitive than IRT-LR in groups (4400,18) and (3000,18). The RL method was consistently tested to be more sensitive thanMH in the entire analysis group. While in the JS group, all research hypotheses were tested as significant where RL and MH turned to be more sensitive than IRT-LR, and the RL method was consistently more sensitive than MH.

2021 | Development Of Performance Assessment Instruments In First High School Geometry Materials
The purpose of this study was to develop a performance assessment instrument on subject matter of geometric through the many facet rasch model approach. Data were collected from 100 students on a small scale and 250 students on a large scale in junior high schools using 3 raters. The performance assessment instrument in the form of a rubric is used to assess the student’s process of working on the questions, each question has a different rubric. The Rasch Many Faceted Measurement Model (MFRM) is used to analyze data by looking at three aspects, namely the facet person, rater agreement, and difficulty domain using the Facet program. For the facet person, the rater separation ratio was 4.96, while the reliability of the separation index was 2.15 which indicates that the assessors are separated reliably. The stratum index is 3.21 which indicates that there are three strata of rater severity that differ statistically in the sample of these 4 raters. The rater agrement obtained the reliability of the rater separation of 0.87 and the correlation between each assessor and the other ranged between 0.40 and 0.63, indicating adequate agreement among the raters in assessing test participants with their level of competence. The Difficulty Domain on the variable maps shows that the hard to soft range is from about +1 to −1 logit. Obviously, the ratings are not as bad, but the spread looks good considering there are 4 ratings. At the level of instrument practicality using the Glicman formula obtained from the T score of each rater I of 58, rater IX obtained a T score of 58.61, and from rater IV the lowest T score was 50.03 and it can be said that in general it is considered practical by the teachers. (rater) in assessing the practicality level of the instrument.
