RIGHT ON THE FIRST DAY OF SEMESTER 114, UNJ GRADUATE SCHOOL HELD A PUBLIC LECTURE

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Postgraduate UNJ (01/03/2021) – Right on the first day of semester 114 of the 2020/2021 school year, Postgraduate held a public lecture with the theme, “Regulation Policy and Experience of Immigration Practitioners immigration attaché Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Australia in Supporting International Cooperation”.

This public lecture was attended directly by Mr. Agus Wijaya, Director of Immigration Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Komarudin, M.Si., Rector of Jakarta State University; Prof. Dr. Nadiroh, M.Pd., Postgraduate Director of UNJ; the Deputy Director of Unj Postsarjan; coordinators of study programs within the Postgraduate Unj; and more than 400 master’s and doctoral students of Postgraduate UNJ. Because it is still in the pandemic period, this public lecture activity is conducted online through zoom service.

The speakers at the public lecture were four indonesian immigration attachés abroad, namely Mr. Dudi Iskandar, Immigration Attaché of the Embassy of Berlin; Mr. Sugito Surya Wiharja, Immigration Attaché of the Embassy of Seoul; Mr. Ronald Arman Abdullah, Immigration Attaché of the Embassy of The Hague; and Mr. Made Tony Nuryana, Immigration Attaché of the Embassy of Sydney. Acting as moderator is Agus Abdul Majid, A.Md.Im., M.P.A., Ph.D., Head of Subdirectory of Inter-State Immigration Cooperation at the Directorate of Immigration Cooperation Directorate General of Immigration.

Public lecture activities with speakers from immigration practitioners is one of the manifestations of cooperation between the Postgraduate UNJ and the Director General of Immigration Kemenkumham RI. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Nadiroh, M.Pd. stated that in improving the quality of graduates, there needs to be synergy between educational institutions and practitioners in the field of immigration. “Immigration can be a national and international partner that can synergize educators with practitioners in the field of immigration.” said Nadiroh.  “Cooperation can be realized in the form of promotion of foreign students studying at UNJ and UNJ students studying in overseas schools as local points of partnership network leading sectors,” he continued.

In line with the views of the Postgraduate Director of UNJ,

Director of Immigration Cooperation, Mr. Agus Wijaya hopes that cooperation with UNJ can increase the credibility of UNJ as a UNGGUL university. “We hope that this cooperation will increase the credibility of UNJ which has now gained superior accrual,” Agus said. “With the full support of the Rector, hopefully this cooperation can last a long time and mutually benefit both parties,” Agus continued.

Prof. Dr. Komarudin, M.Si., as Rector of UNJ, welcomed the cooperation initiated by the Postgraduate Of UNJ with the Director General of Immigration. In his speech, Komarudin said that immigration management is one of the global issues that can contribute in developing various areas of life, one of which is in the field of education. “In relation to global issues, immigration management has enormous potential in cooperation in the improvement and development of various fields, such as education, politics and security, economic, social, and cultural with various countries,” he said. “So that we can all overcome future problems through cooperation between countries,” he concluded.

Through the exposure of the speakers, participants were given new insights for some who attended related to the function of immigration abroad. Immigration has functions in the field of law enforcement and state security, services, and facilitators of community welfare development.

Description of immigration duties at the Immigration Attaché in the Embassy of each country consisting of (1) issuance and replacement of passports Rl; (2) issuance of passport-like travel letters (SPLP) for Indonesian citizens; (3) issuance of visas of the Republic of Indonesia; (4) issuance of renewal of re-entry permit (IMK) for foreign nationals holding permanent residence permits based on the approval of the Director General; (5) registration of children of dual nationality; (6) issuance of immigration facilities for dual nationality or affidavits; (7) monitoring and monitoring of immigration to indonesian citizens abroad; and (7) management, planning, finance, and state property.
