Research Culture at UNJ Postgraduate

Research-based learning at UNJ Postgraduate is authentic, problem-solving from the point of view of problem formulation, problem-solving, and communicating the benefits of research results. Research-based learning implemented is a student-centered learning method that integrates research into the learning process to carry out the Three Dharma of Higher Education multifaceted, which refers to various kinds of learning methods. Research-based learning provides opportunities for students to seek information, develop hypotheses, collect data, analyze data, and make conclusions from the data compiled.

Best practice of research-based learning

Research-based learning stems from the philosophy of constructivism, which includes four aspects: education that builds student understanding, learning by developing prior knowledge, knowing that it is a process of social interaction, and meaningful learning from authentic experiences.

Enrichment of teaching materials learning has its origin in conducting research. Therefore, lecturers present the results of their study as real examples in lectures to assist students in understanding ideas, concepts, research theories, and research practices that follow the fields of science and the Research Group of Lecturers at UNJ Postgraduate.

The results of the lecturer’s research regarding the STEAM learning model were adopted and developed by postgraduate students to conduct research according to the characteristics of elementary school-age children.

Students adopted the results of the lecturer’s research in the Neuropsychology Impact course in learning, and students carried out appropriate research.

Play words previously developed in European countries and Australia were then modified and designed in Indonesia and integrated through the Pedagogic Play course.
